Identify the part.

I am looking for some help identifying the following part removed from my 1974 911.

Image

It is a plastic moulding which has a fixing point on it. The end has a rubber cap with a slit in it and the whole thing is currently attached to a rubber hose.

I am guessing it is vent for one of the overflow systems ( brake fluid / fuel evaporation / or washer bottle vent ).

Unfortunately none of my pictures that I took when dismantling the car show it and I can't seem to find it on the PET guide.

As always any help would be much appreciated.
Andrew

It's the breather drain from the air box. It's mounted at the base of the engine oil cooler.

So much for my educated guess - three guesses and all wrong!

Thanks for the help John very much appreciated.

Of course I am now in a miserable mood as the engine went back in the car several months ago.

Do you think there is a cat in hell's chance of refitting it with the engine in situ?

Or what happens if I don't fit it and promise not to overfill the oil.

Thanks Andrew
