'0' mph is presumably because it technically produces zero torque at zero mph, however as soon as it moves peak torque is available.. So while everyone says peak torque from zero its not strictly true..

Beautiful car, and the electric conversion looks to be very well integrated - would be interesting o know what the total weight is, although I expect the balance is going to have a bigger impact on the overall drive of the car as I don't see anyone chasing laptimes with it

There's a very genuine reason for it being sold on which has nothing to do with the car itself.

What an absolute travesty. Nothing makes me more mad than cr*p like this. Someone shoot me if I start thinking that putting half a ton of batteries and an electric motor in an '70's 911 shell is a good idea. Keep the batteries in the modern sh**te that's been engineered to take them, and leave early 911 bodies to house beautiful air-cooled reciprocating combustion engines.

I think the travesty is when some people don't bother reading the details or come to a conclusion without seeing or driving a car. It's an 80s SC with some cosmetic back dates. The car has been thoroughly re-engineered to accommodate the electric power and it's a very nicely installation.

FWIW, I have no interest in the car or connection to the seller but I have driven the car and some appreciation of the engineering that has gone into it. I love the air cooled motors and electric power was not an obvious choice. It's an interesting solution if you live in London and a very interesting piece of kit.

Don't like it, sorry. Don't agree with the concept, therefore no interest in seeing it or driving it. Seeing the photo of the bodywork being prepped in what appears to be a dusty garage was enough for me to suggest this is not what I would call a properly engineered solution.

Show me how the front suspension sub-assemblies, strut towers, body side-members, scuttle panel and floor have been strengthened to take the additional front axle load and body torsionals, then I might be a bit more convinced.

It is a targa after all, so there's no roof to carry these loads through the structure of the car, so by adding the battery mass you're asking a lot from this chassis.

I have recently met Moggy at a few local hill climbs where he bought his Beetle to run.
Get close to that car and meet the man, and to me it makes great sense, the Beetle looks great, and not just pretty.
As to the structure and loads it is a good point and most important with all those batteries, but there are many cars running around which will be over stressed, a Chevy LS V8 in a Ford Cortina, Rover V8 in Morris Minors etc and many not engineered like the Moggy Beetle!

These cars are expensive due to the resto work undertaken to restore the integrity of the shell.
Strikes me there are many 911s running around with very serious rust issues which are more dangerous.

No offence to the builder, and putting aside the questions about what 'engineering' a build like this really means, why build this?

There is no hope for this community if it's believed this is a good thing.

Down with the future, progress, technology and low emissions. Long live noisy, smelly, fuel-burning combustion (for a limited minority).
