So converted to a six cylinder last year and was more interested in the oil temperature and oil pressure than I ever was with the original 1.7. !
So looking at different gauges was a challenge between originality and price ! And what makes sense !!
So I have the original 914 combo gauge but also a 911 gauge
One reads fuel and brake warnings
And the 911 reads fuel temp and pressure!
A few quotes of 6 to 8 hundred dollars to create a 3 or 4 gauge !! Made me think there must be a better way!
So after lots of research! Thanks google !!
924 or 944 offers the face plate I was looking for !
So I bought new faces for all of the senders . I made a new back plate and after a lot of filing and patients ended up with a single gauge that I think gives me all the info I need !? obviously having to keep the original senders.

Very nicely done. I'm currently working on a dial project for my conversion. I'll be sure to add it to my build thread when it's complete.

Thanks for the offer Mark. I'm actually using a dual gauge from an SC that I've 'backdated'. I'm currently working on a GT style fuel gauge. Causing me a couple of headaches at the moment especially as I messed up the wiring​ whilst testing an shorted out my sender unit. I felt rather stupid that day!

Awesome work! Those combi gauges the 914world guys bought 5 yrs ago when some clever fella was making them, are now hens teeth.

And Palo Alto or Hollywood Speedo will make you one, but for about the same cost as a pair of 15 inch fuchs!

So it's great to see someone making their own.

On my GT I've gone the other route and used a 911 oil temp/pressure gauge, and am fitting a 52mm fuel gauge in the dash.

Yeah I looked at that route. Hollywood wanted about 800 and palo about six. But both said they would use their own senders and create their own guage. So after a while I thought so what's the difference?? Either way it will not be original and I would be at least six hundred of mr trumps dollars lighter !

Oh and a original small fuel gauge was at least 900 plus !!!

No I used a six tacho plus a tacho converter from the USA . As the tacho was slightly later than my Kettering set up with a 123 distributor.

Que? It may be a challenge getting the right 52mm gauge that works with the original sender, but they are available and for about 10% of that. (Unless they mean the original item: but who has ever seen one, and would recognise it if they did?)

Yes your right , that money was for an original and yes who would know ! Crazy price!
The challenge is matching the ohms like you said to a another gauge.
That's one reason I went down the path that I did.

I believe an original GT fuel gauge would have been 60mm?

VDO make a range of 52mm gauges, and there could indeed be some chop and change to get the right match for the 914 sender (I'll post results here).

Enterprising types might open up a newer vdo gauge, add a silver dot and a custom face to try and emulate the GT type...

I got mine form Mark Surel at New Vintage in Michegan. A Christmas present to myself about 10 years ago (don't tel the wife!)
