If you recognise what this is, you will know the joy I have been dealing with at the moment
Anyone else had this fun?

Is it the nasty, water absorbing, rust inducing foam filler in the rear wings above the indicators? If it is I share your pain.

Yes Stephen, it certainly is. And it's bloody difficult to get to.
Thankfully there was no rust back there which was a relief!

Louis,
Somewhere amongst your dads paperwork there is an Official Porsche Document listing all the places that a customer can expect water ingress into his new 914
Just part of the Rich Pattern that is Porsche ownership

Just the luck of the draw I guess Stephen.
Thanks Mike, yes I have seen the document but will have another look at it.
Does anyone have a suggestion of anything to put in the void at the back of the fender. It's going to get the same underseal treatment as the rest of the pan etc but wondered if there was a suitable alternative for the foam. . It just seems like such a dirt trap and very difficult to clean out when in use.
