Hello. I recently invested in some spares that became available.
I still have to work out what I've got and catalogue it all but any advice on the best way forward?
I want to sell some of it to fund my own restoration. Some I want to keep.
My questions are:

Any suggestions on the best way to catalogue / value this stuff?
Best place / way to sell?
Identifying what I have?
Suggestions on best way to ship overseas (if the need arose)

Basically, I've paid quite a lot for this stuff (for me at least) and need to recoup some of the outlay so I can then see what I can afford to keep & what I can sell on.

I've done much autojumbling over the years, and one thing i've learned, is don't over value, ie. price to sell, and another is that there is no substitute for a spending considerable amount of time and effort photographing and marketing each piece/set seperately if you want to get top money back. Personally i'd market at fixed prices in appropriate places, here for example, as you will get committed buyers, and can do shipping calculations beforehand. Good luck, I for one will be watching with interest, you've got some good bits there.....

As Winston says, the price you get will be directly proportional to the effort you put in.

At one end of the scale is the person you bought it from who sold it as a job lot. At the other is the person who has the time to clean, check, identify, photograph and list separately each item on the most appropriate web sites.

Where you sit on that scale is something only you know.

I like to think I'd take a week off work and very much enjoy myself going through it all aided by a flask of tea and radio 3. But in reality I'd probably get knacked off by the end of day 1, take the bits I want out and sell the job lot on.

I know where I think I stand on the scale. Where I actually stand is another matter, as Sam described with tea & radio 3 : )

Half my battle is actually knowing what each bit is. I have a fair idea but knowing older parts from newer parts is an experience I don't have.

I have a late A T2 so I think I can safely work through the later parts. The last photo is a brand new B rear window, for example.

One of the biggest issues I find is deciding to sell 'as-is' or refurbish and sell. The amount of time spent (and cash) making good something which you know can be better has to be balanced with the difference you think the two selling prices might make. As Sam says, it depends on how quickly you wish to dispose and how much your time is worth. I catalogued and photographed everything in a recent bulk buy and found it very time consuming. It's hard to know what to advertise first and I have found it's very worthwhile (once catalogued) just keeping your eyes peeled on the many 'wanted' threads on several forums and responding to a receptive buyer. It's not easy selling a garage full of stuff piecemeal without being very organized. Tick off everything you sell from your list as you go and have the up to date spreadsheet saved ready for the next enquiry.

You have a lot of stuff and I would take advice (or trawl previous sales) before putting things up one by one. Make sure you advertise clearly in terms of postage and PayPal costs and be very aware of international shipping costs should that arise before you agree a sale.

There are some very interesting parts there including what looks like a NOS front trunk floor for a RHD car and like many others here can't wait till you get them advertised.

Gill - I have 3 tool type rolls but apparently they were for an 'on the road' repair kit. They are more or less empty but one I think has valve springs in it. With regard to all of this, if you can bear with me, I'll go through all of it with photos & better investigation. I basically picked it all up on wednedsay & loaded it into a storage unit. The photos above were all I really did.
