Does anyone have a manifold pressure sensor removed from a 914 1.7?

We do have a used one now. It fails the factory vacuum test but holds enough to work under running in conditions, ie light throttle/low load. (We have the AFR meter connected for running in the engine so we can see it lean off and avoid potential damage).

We have sent the original unit to Bosch to be rebuilt. We will probably keep our used one unless it can get someone out of trouble. Do you have a "core " unit or are looking for outright purchase?

Andrew, I do have this if it's of any use.

I bought this along with everything else to unable me to put fuel injection back on my car. A project I never got around too and certainly won't now.

I know nothing of it's condition, or whether it's compatible. It does have screws in it which leads me to believe it's been refurbed in the past as I thought they all had rivets from the factory. However I may be wrong.

Hi Angus,

apologies but I missed your post and only saw Stephens one at first.
Stephen kindly sent me his MPS to compare to mine, although I have established that neither hold a vacuum correctly.

I have been experimenting with how easy it would be to repair these and then recalibrate them ( or recalibrate a unit that holds a vacuum ).
I've just bought all the relevant test equipment so I think it should be possible but I would need a known good unit to get the calibration values from.

So if you know of a known good unit, ( or would be happy to loan me your newly refurbished by Bosch one as a gold standard ) I would be all ears.

I'm not looking to make any money out of this just trying to find a solution for other DDKers who can't afford the Bosch prices for a refurb.

My main goal was to get my 914 running properly but if I can learn something along the way then that's all good.

Hi Andrew,

I would be OK with you taking some data from the units we have here including the refurb Unit from Bosch and our own 914 2.0 that runs perfectly, but you would need to come here and do it on the premises. That way we both learn something and I don't have to take any chances with customers property. I hope this is OK.

For those who are wondering the Bosch Classic service is very, very good. Unit turned around in 2 weeks and really well packaged on the return. Works perfectly. Cost Euro 239 (plus tax for privateers).

In the meantime I am now trying to source new pistons for my front calipers - have ordered the NK ones from Germany but suspect they might not fit the bill.
