GRP 914 panels

Since my 914 will never be concours the decision has been made to make it a bit more rowdy and start doing some historic rallies with it.

Which means it's time to bolt loads of cool bits to it to make it look like this sort of thing:

First job is front and rear lids. Where should I buy them from?

I've been asking about these too on my wanted thread - fsh do some nice but very pricey lids. Martin Walker used to do them - not sure if they still do as I haven't contacted them yet

Wow. I was expecting more like half those prices.

When I built a 924 racer I used Club Auto Sport panels, which weren't perfect but did the job I needed them to and were (and still are) more like £250 a panel.

Yes - that's the kind of price I was expecting too.

Just found this link - but I think it might not be current as you can't find it via their normal website. The fibreglass gt bonnet with basal wood is rather fit

Yes can vouch for Barrie's 914 panels at M&W (904GTS on here Sam)...just look at the customer's cars section on the link above!

Cheers

I still do the 914 GT parts and have a couple of sets in progress at the moment, the website prices are correct and are plus VAT but still roughly half of FSH.
This amused me from their website :-

We point out that the body of the 914 was handcrafted by Karmann, that leads to extreme manufacturing tolerances of up to several centimeters for this model. For this reason, you should know that adaptation work on our offered 914 parts could be necessary in individual cases. This is usually not a mistake on our parts but justified according to experience in the manufacturing tolerances of the 914.

I hope you and family are well Wayne.
