DDK - Die Deutschen Klassiker

It has come up before but what do you recommend for front bonnet gas struts that are notoriously unreliable? I am trying to keep the car original but would like a reliable solution. I have heard Weltmeister ones are good but does anyone have experience with these? Or is the only real solution to use a prop arm?

Genuine Porsche. I haven't tried the weltmeister, but the URO ones only seem to last 6 months to a year, definitely do not resort to a prop arm, get them fixed! prop arms drive me nuts lol

I have had these heavy duty ones from Type911 on my car for around 5 years....work just fine....perhaps sometimes less than perfect in really cold weather

One simple way of making them last longer is to leave the boot fully open, this means the struts are not compressed and are under less pressure

Thanks everyone. Unfortunately leaving the boot open isn't really possible. I'll try the type911 ones or similar.
