DDK Northern Weekend - 15th / 16th / 17th Sept - DETAILS

Fri 15th , Sat 16th, Sun 17th Sept 2017

Time to plan for the 2017 Northern Weekend :)

We did something similar way back in 2005 & 2006 , both of which were huge fun, in fact who wouldn't enjoy spending a weekend blasting around the Yorkshire dales in their classic Porsche surrounded by more classic Porsche's ;)

I'm organising this with an eye on the fact we dont' have enough events where you can bring your partner along.

These weekend events are meant to be partner friendly, if your partner has doubt's about going on a 'Porsche' event please persuade them to join us. The weekend is all about having a laid back fun time and most bring along their partners :)

There will be a specific 'quick routes' for those that want the fun, but the main drive outs will be a tour through the Beautiful UK countryside.

I will add more details of the weekends activities as I confirm them, but initially we must confirm the accomodation.

Not really started planing yet, but rough outline plan for the weekend might be :

Friday 15th .. Optional meet early afternoon , maybe somewhere south of the Dales, folowed by a drive cross country upto the CB Inn

Friday 15th .. Meet at the CB Inn for meal, drinks & Porsche banter ;)

Saturday 16th .. Drive out up into Northumberland, followed by meal & drinks at the CB

Sunday 17th .. Drive out based around the Yorkshire Dales - then head off home or stay on and extend your weekend away in Yorkshire

Accomodation Details :) ----- IMPORTANT , YOU NEED TO PHONE THEM AND BOOK YOUR ROOMS DIRECT : QUOTE JAMES CHARNLEY & CLASSIC PORSCHE EVENT

http://www.cbinn.co.uk

I have booked us into ' The Charles Bathurst Inn ' otherwise known as ' The CB Inn'

We have stayed @ The CB Inn a number of time now. Its location is spectactular and the place itself is very atmospheric and has superb beer ;)

There are 18 rooms available , and due to its location we will eat there Friday night and Saturday night.

Prices:

The total for 2 nights are as follows -

Principal £230.00 - ( £115 / night / room based on 2 people ) - additional Sunday night will be £105
Superior £260.00 - ( £130 / night / room based on 2 people ) - additional Sunday night will be £120
Large Superior £270.00 - ( £135 / night / room based on 2 people ) - additional Sunday night will be £125

The single rate ( Principle rooms ) is £182 for the 2 nights - additional Sunday night will be £81.00.

These prices are for 2 nights based on 2 people sharing, inclusive of Bed & Breakfast. The evening meal will be additional and can go on individual rooms or split evenly across the rooms.

If you would like to book we require a deposit of £50 per room.

2 large superior doubles,
8 superior doubles,
4 superior twins,
3 principal doubles
1 principal twin

We normally let the principal rooms for single occupancy.

If we fill the hotel, there is a sister pub & /or other accomodation nearby

Any questions / queries please let me know.

Deposits needed and rooms booked ASAP

:)

Booked. Have very fond memories of the 2000's one I came on.

I can do the teas, as will be in my kettle (assuming that's O.K. of course).

Thank you James :) .

Are you going to give us an up date on your 996 adventure. I would love to know how you are getting on with her. :P

Yes, I must do that. In storage at the moment, but I did solve the mystery noise and drove it a few times last year. Frankly, I literally keep forgetting I've got it. Hopefully I'll have fully bonded with it by the Autumn.

I am, I must admit, rather looking forward to having a relatively posh car for once, although frankly get just as much fun out my old snotters at the moment. Current weapon of choice is the £770 eBay Legacy 2.0R estate. For a fun drive, it's brilliant.

Anyway, you're right, I hinted at various things and then never wrote it up, so I will do. In fact, must get it out of storage and back home for the remainder of it's work.
