Shorthood Longhood confusion

Following the addition of the new forum for IBs etc, the two 911 forum headers look like this:
Image

Main problem is that the pre 74 cars are longhood, not shorthood.

Also, while we are about it, the inconsistency of the name format is deeply offensive to all saddoes with nothing better to do than nit-pick.
Why is one
Classic 911 - pre 74
and the other
Aircooled 911 post 73
?
Any chance we could use the hyphen consistently? Otherwise I'm not sure I'll be able to sleep properly at night.

Many thanks, Richard.

It's an 'Americanism' anyway. Doesn't reflect U.K. terminology. When was the last time you said your gear was under the 'hood'.

I'm not sleeping well either.

Regards
Mike

The pre 74 descriptor should say 'longhood' - I'll change it in the morning

The pre and post 73 and 74 discussion has been had - let's leave it there. I'll add or delete a hyphen though to keep you happy

I can see his gripe. To the casual observer, the inference is that Classic 911s aren't air cooled. They are all air cooled and all classics so why the different terms?

Jesus Bootsy, what were you thinking? :)

Whilst we are at it, perhaps the 914 forum header is due a refresh?

I know that area may have been a bit quieter 12 years ago, but I am almost certain that there are more than 14 DDKers posting in there these days. :-P

Exactly, they remind me of the ones at school who never caught on to girls and how to talk to them

It's been changed.

For clarification the 'aircooled' term is used for the Post 73 section as otherwise we will get people blabbling on about those 996 things and other later kettles.

Thanks for indulging me, apologies for any annoyance caused.

As I used to say to the girls at school.

Cheers, Richard.

But there weren't any girls at 'Computer Club'?
