After the mention in the 'inspiration' thread I pulled a 2001 copy of 911+PW for a bit of a retro trip.

Happy memories. I bought my 72S in April 1988 for £5500, rallied and raced it , then big off in the West Cork Rally 2000. Value of car after crash including 2.7 Pukka RS engine I'd fitted was £3000. Luckily I kept it , and had it restored and rebuilt by Ninemeister 2012 - 2015. Some we loose, some despite ourselves we win !

Those of us who bought their 911's in the late 80's and kept them have been real financial winners.
To get a load of fun out of them too is a real bonus.

I bought my first 911 in around 1999 from them and had spent hours poring over their site. I remember it well, vaunting the 'rust free' Californian imports.

A 2.4T LHD in dark metallic blue with beige interior and aftermarket seats. It had a Tuthills rebuilt gearbox (and the LNV reg seems familiar to Tuthills cars), lived on the street in London, leaked a bit but was faultless in starting and going. It’s still insured, according to ASKMID. Does anyone here own it?

I got my targa from them in '99. Princely sum of £12k Inc respray and top-end rebuild. Both of which were shite / dangerous.

But he did get me my beloved car, so will be eternally grateful on that front.

My 912 targa was originally sold into the UK via them around 1999 for a princely sum of £7500. I bought it in 2007 from a private seller for £7750. Prices certainly weren't rising quickly in those days!

Sadly, I faffed about far longer before buying the 911, but still happy with where I started on that too
