oil cooler flexi for 1972 S

When i was dismantling the car, i obviously had to disconnect the front wing oil cooler radiator from the supply and return flexi pipes.

One disconnected easily, on the other, the female nut shattered inside the spanner.

This left me with the following

1. One perfect pipe, (big red arrow in photo below), for which, following Dave Stretch's advice, i can replace the flexi tube by simply unscrewing the fitting at either end.
2. One pipe with one perfect fitting and one fitting that has no method of attachment to the male end of the sill oil tube due to hte absence of a captive nut.

As the ali fittings are all nicely dated 10/71 (you can just make this out on the fitting closest to the camera) and therefore original to the car, i am keen to refit them.

So, any advice how i get an appropriately sized replacement female nut (a modern repro pipe might need to make the ultimate sacrifice) onto the end of the fitting closest to the camera so it looks like the fitting at the back of the photo.

Options seem to be:
1. Cut the fitting end off at the narrow part, put an appropriate nut on and weld the end back on? Must be possible if very fiddly but is it advisable?
2. Does anyone perchance have a similar fitting they dont want that i can buy off them - needs to have a good date, ideally 10/71
3. Is repro the only real solution - so i have 3 correct fittings and one modern version?

I found a 1970 dated pipe with wjht looks like the correct fitting on it but i am presuming it is smaller diameter as the 1972MY rad i believe had larger diameter pipes?

Thoughts would be appreciated.

Andrew,

i might be mistaken but from memory you can just unscrew the ferrule from the fitting. Failing that, you can buy argus fittings from several places. This thread makes good reading. https://porsche356registry.org/article/25

Some of the old engine oil hoses should harvest the correct size nut.

Coconuts... more a beer man myself.

Andrew,
For your reference the fitting thread size is M30 x 1.5 for 1972 oil lines. If you get really stuck then Cohline do make the correct size but the fitting no longer screws onto the flexible hose they are now crimped on.
