Someone pays $33k for a 912, without an original engine imports it, post a few pictures on social media, and puts it up for sale at £50k? Add to that he has just told everybody in the advert he is a motivated seller? Nice car but imho wrong price.

I bought it well, so I accept I'm going to make a profit on the car. I'm asking offers over £50k.

Probably not the best move, but at least the seller is being honest as we could all probably trace back on his posts and find the original auction price. Plus it isn't much different to what some dealers do with their mark ups.

What do 912s sell for these days anyway?

all 911 types are any price today, it is just a case of if you fancy it make an offer and see if it fly's?

£50K for a modified 'outlaw'hotrod' 912 with a lot of features ie the lights etc from an honest seller. Will float someone's boat so good luck to both parties.
I don't think there are any hard and fast rules today.

No rules on making profit ... Anyone could have bought the car and done the same, it's just a matter of having the balls to buy and import .... But asking price is not selling price , so who knows, he might sell for break even or even a loss.

Either way, not really something to get you knickers in a twist over

What's not to like about having a pair of twisted knickers up your crack!

Nothing wrong with being honest, i just dont see it as nearly a £50k car. Its a (apparently nicely spec'd) mongrel.

£50k still buys you a mega 912, with the right bits.

I think, once you factor in transport and tax, its probably worth loosely what hes paid for it, at best. But we shall see.

Maybe my price reference is off.

Very nice sorted original cars £35k. About £40 for something special. Max had a 65 rhd on for £40. Yes some dealers are putting these up for £60/70 but I'm not sure how much is transacting. I seem to remember that 1-3 years ago someone sold an outlaw 912 on here for about £19? I would guess this car is in the £25/35 range but maybe I talking out of my arse because I have my 912 insured for quite bit more than £40!

I follow BaT and saw this and liked it. I'm only a window shopper. What is noticeable is stuff seems to find a sensible value, and people seem pleased, vendors and buyers. Lots of juicy Porsches. Fortune favours the brave, 10 day listing, bought unseen, a bold move imho, our man deserves to do well, or is jammy or both! Glws. W

I'm with Neil, maybe because Type IV's in Porsches always make me come over all PCGB. Its not that nice looking either to my eyes.

35 bags, tops.

We recently built & installed a 2.4 Type 4 engine in a 912 that measured 150 lb/ft at 2400 rpm. It will spin the wheels in 3rd coming off a roundabout. This is a plug for the very idea as much as for our own business!
