Had a mega shower, so happy to have the roof on. Car is fab. Brakes are horrid. Needs the rear arb fitting. Awesome!

I'm really looking forward to learning how to drive this car.

There's an article here thats worth reading Graham - it suggests that if you are going to use the car on the track didn't install a rear arb. Its worth it if you are just using it for spirited Road driving though

Yes I read that. My car came with a rear bar, very badly fitted. I drove it once with it fitted to the mot where it failed on the rear bar hitting the underneath. I just took it off.

It was much more playful to drive with the rear bar on than off. One can always disconnect one side if it goes on track. Not sure it will though. Well not with the current brakes certainly!

You have to allow time for the new brake pads to bed in fully. This can take a few hundred miles to happen, they should improve!

Happy for you to take my 75 2.0 for spin so you can feel how the brakes should be on a 914.

Thanks Kev, I'll be patient with the brakes. They do work, but I felt I needed to be on it very early to be comfortable on the road. Anyway, time will tell, I'm not doing anything on it until the winter happens. Not sure the salt is a long way off though!

Not to mention the classic and awesome rover 25!

Hooray! another 914 hits the tarmac! take care with braking, it will never be as good as the modern cars (ie servo-assisted everything)
