New 912 owner

Hi good 912 folk,
After many years of Porsche ownership and many models, I've ticked off one of the few remaining Porsche that was missing from my ownership list and one I've been hankering for for a few years now.
I'm a new 912 owner!
I tracked the car down in California and just by chance it came from a town called Banning, which is only a few miles from where my 914 came from in Desert Hot Springs. The 914 was in superb rust free condition (as can be seen in my DDK restoration thread) so I'm hoping the same from this 912.
It's a 67 SWB car, but hasn't been run in a while and needs a little TLC.
The tapes holding the horn grilles in for transit only, I do have photos with no tape and 1 screw per grille so it's not hiding any nasties. Fingers crossed I'll arrive in Southampton towards the end of November.
Picture was taken at the Shipping warehouse, not sure who's having the 911 in the background but it looks like a lot of works required...anyone here?
Regards
Darren

Thanks guy's,
This is one of 2 cars I'm shipping from California, so I'm going to be a busy boy over winter
I'm inclined to post a few pictures of how I get on, so get the popcorn at alert 5 for January.

Looks good Darren, what colour should it be?

Well spotted David,
It's a matching numbers car Originally Tangerine, although silver was an option that year.
Still undecided on what colour to go for
Did the uber original tack on the 14 so may have a little self indulgence on this one.
Ordered a COA as the engine number is a "Home market" (Germany code, not USA/export) and there's a few other little things that make me think it might have been originally sold in Germany.

Hello Darren,
welcome to the 912 fold - that looks like a great car.
Having enjoyed your 914 restoration thread and having had the pleasure of seeing the car in the flesh at the Chichester Classic Car show the other weekend ( although sadly the owner seemed absent and I didn't manage to speak to them ), I am looking forward to this thread.
This and your other car must be pretty special for you to have left the 356 behind ( I'm sorely tempted on that one ).
All the best
Andrew

Thanks Andrew,
Sorry I missed you at Chi Classic Car Show. I wouldn't have gone far, didn't see any 12's there, what did you take?
It was a matter of timing on leaving the 356. I'd just bought 2 cars and the 356 came up literally an hour or so after I wired the money for my second car, so I was all out of cash to be in the market for it. Mind you, I'm pleased with the deal on both cars I bought so they'll be another time I'm sure.
PM sent
Regards
Darren

I only realised the show was on when passing with the family, so I was a visitor only I'm afraid.
Must put it in the diary and try to go in the 912 next year.
As for your other new car, that looks interesting too.

Andrew
