My car didn't come with a tool kit and I was thinking of ordering one of these Porsche replacement tool kits from my local dealer, I think thay are about £200.

But what I want to know is are they any good, does anyone have or used one? does it have all the tools I'll need for my 912?

Part number: 91172100200

It's not period correct and looks to be for a 911

No generator pulley spanner etc. What are you after tools to use our a period correct tool kit? If the former you could get quite a nice usable set of tools from the likes of Halfords professional range, machine mart, etc.

If period correct you could have a chat to karmann konnection who have a deal on tool kits at the moment.

i have one, christmas present, but when ordered it was ordered for the right age car. it is expensive for a tool kit, but does come with the right pulley spanner ( with pins). i posted pictures some time back, Christmas 2014 i think.

I think you assembly something of the same standard for much less. Plus as other have said it missing important bits.

This is what I use in my tool kits. I think I found it for < £5 online. Sorry I can't remember if the size is 32 or 36 but will check for you

Plus the other most important bit is

http://www.prs356.co.uk/collections/all ... ug-spanner

Without one of these and an allen key taking out the spark plugs isn't fun. PRS also do a nice spanner for £18

In the 356 Register Journal a chap called Udo Scharf, www.porsche356service.de advertises correct new toolkits for 356 A,B, BT6, C for $448 delivered to USA. I believe the last 356s had exactly the same toolkit as a 912.

He asks for emails to udo.scharf@t-online.de

Very keen on supporting DDK friends but I got the Hazet spark plug tool (2505) for £4.30 from Amazon.

However, they seem to be sold out now ;-)
