Can anyone recommend one? The Official Porsche one is a bit expensive, looking for a breathable cheaper one thats a good fit.

I have an official Porsche one that I've had for 15 years now, they are expensive but fantastic, a small investment relative to problems you'll avoid with dust, damp etc. Mine is from my old 996 so not a perfect fit but does the job.

Thanks for the reply, is yours the stretchy one? Is it easy to get the dust off? They look white in the pic and I'm worried it get grubby in a lock up garage.

I have a couple of indoor covers from Classic Additions and find them very good. Easy to wash and about £80 in 911 size.

I had one from Classic Additions. Pretty good. You can have it with a marque badge and car type printed on. I asked therefore for Porsche 356A. It came with the logo, and "A 356" printed underneath. Bless.

Thanks everyone. I've decided to go with the stretchy type one from Classic Additions that Danny recommended. Exactly what I was after and within budget.

Hi apologies for hi-jacking the thread, but I am about to lose my garage space and so was looking at options. The Stormforce cover looks really good, do you use it outside and what are your thoughts? I am never convinced about a car cover when left outside through the winter but would love to hear your thoughts. I had been contemplating one of these

Obviously more expensive and more unsightly though. So if a car cover is good enough that would be preferable.

Just go for the outdoor temporary garage, i would imagine it will be better as the air can flow around a little at least.

Personally I have used a cover craft outdoor cover for short periods which actually worked very well, extremely lightweight and as long as the car is nice and dry when you cover it the slightest breeze travels between the car and cover keeping things moisture free. If your car is going to be outside all winter in constantly wet conditions though I would think twice about a cover unless you have no other option.

I have not used the cover outside
Like Tmo says I don't think I would use it for long periods outside in the winter

I had to keep my 912 outside with a cover for a while and if I was to do it again I would be tempted to leave the cover off. I think that the car dries off quicker with the cover off. However, it was on the street so I felt the cover hid it away from unwelcome attention.

thanks all for the replies... the car is going to be under a trees so it definitely needs to be covered. The car shelter looks the best option, however my neighbours may disagree. I was looking to build a new garage, however I can't get planning permission due to already extending to the side. So I thought car shelter, but then found out it is likely to fall foul of a 28 day rule. Where a temporary structure can be considered permanent (or words to that effect), something marquee owners have found. My neighbour is a stickler for these things. I may just do it and see how long I can get away with it.

A friend of mine has a very similar situation, he lives in a conservation area with very picky neighbours, he has one of those temporary garages and has had it in place for several years now.

I thought the fact that it was classified as a temporary structure was enough to get round planning permission?

Sounds exactly like my situation. We are in a conservation area, we are extending the house starting in a few weeks, which is why I am losing the garage. Its becoming a kitchen! All this means I have no garage and the planners have told me there is no chance of building a separate garage, as the house will be nearly double the size of the original 1850's build.

The car shelter and price looked ideal, but then I found out about this 28 day rule when I was looking at permitted development rules. A quick google search reveals lots of sites confirming it, in fact most marquee and temporary shelter sites have a section about it. However like you say, do it anyway, who knows as its going to be mainly hidden I may be lucky.
