911 oil pipe at rear of engine - Routing/fixings?

After the failure of the original oil pipe aluminum union (which turned out to be a non standard part!) I've now have a proper Porsche part (with steel unions...)
However a quick installation check shows it should have some fixing around the oil cooler? There's nothing there to bolt it to so where should it go?
Any ideas? What have I missed? I'm sure it's really obvious but I just can't see it
Thanks

I think there is a captive nut on my oil cooler. Have you had a look on PET to see what that says.

I'm pretty sure this joins to the tin ware. I just changed the oil cooler on mine, the 10mm goes into the end of the piece that runs between rocker covers.

No, mine is like that Gary, the cooler has a captive nut/cage and the pipe is simply supported by that fastener, M6 iirc.
It is a very long route for a heavy pipe to run un supported, but that is it.
I have fitted a DIY 'P' clip that picks up by the base of the flywheel end so clamping the pipe mid length. (uses one of the case through bolts)
Non standard, but will stop the pipe vibrating mid length.

Thanks John, there's nothing on mine, it's part 41 on this diagram
Could it be on the tinwear and I just haven't fitted it yet..? (goes to garage to check)

Thanks to both, simultaneous post!
This old photo shows the big rubber pipe on there originally running over the gearbox as opposed to the new one that goes underneath the box.

Gary, I had the same issue with mine, but once the tinware was fitted around the oil cooler all was clear.
However I did have to bend the pipe a little to get the bracket to line up with the fixing hole.

Morning, I'm hoping that's the case Andrew. I loosely fitted the tinware and held the pipe in place this morning:
Looks feasible that it bolts to the last little fixing, but the pipe is going to need some work to make it easily get to the fitting on the case and not foul the exhaust and oil cooler on the way. I'll probably take Graham's lead and add an additional support.
I think I'll also need to take the engine stand off as that's in the way as well! Which is a shame as I wanted to fit the pipe before the heat exchanger.

My oem supplied pipewass no better a fit!
You would think a simple jig is all required for correct positioning.
I don't like fitting this kind of stuff 'understress' any more than you do. Can you open the tab up to get the M6 screw through to the nut on the tin ware?
iirc the crank case union is 'hemi-spherical' to allow some mis-alignment to be accommodated, so slacken it off and see if the tab is any better but still clear of the heat exchanger, then tighten the crankcase nut.

This is also an OEM pipe. It's going to need more adjustment than the joint will allow. Luckily it's just a big steel pipe so should be tolerant of a little tweaking

Not sure if you have sorted this yet Gary, but I finally got back into the workshop so took a photo of my pipe fixing - might be helpful.

Thanks Andrew, I've not sorted it yet as I was at Goodwood this weekend. Certainly looks like that is the same as my car. Does it clear the exhaust/oil cooler?

Hi Gary, the pipe clears the oil cooler but is close to the exhaust.
Not made much progress myself recently as I was also at Goodwood. Only went on the Thursday, Friday and the Sunday
