How to remove cigarette lighter?

I had a new cigarette lighter installed in my 356 because the old one wasn't earthing. I think I've figured out how to earth the old one but I can't loosen the nut at the back of the new one. Without a long sprocket I can't get it off.
I tried to loosen it using a pumping type wrench but no. Any ideas?

Neil, I think you have the answer in your opening sentence - without a long socket you can't get it off......
.... and given the length of the lighter unit I think it might have to be one of those old style cylinder sockets with holes for a bar that were used for spark plugs and the like.
