My new ride....

Well, some of you know that I've recently bought a new car. In fact I've had a lot of help and advice behind the scenes as well as a very much appreciated visit and inspection from Darren to confirm the car actually existed.
It started as a search for my next project - this time I fancied a coupe. I was looking for something to hotrod, something that would be as relatively rust free as possible, LHD and not a longhood - I didn't think I could afford one and I'm a bit shy about chopping one up.
Funny how searches take you....Anyway, what finally took my interest was this car. It's a 1978 SC in Minerva Blue. Stateside car (Michigan). What really got me about it though is that it is a one-owner full history (including original bill of sale), looks about as rust-free as they come and has only done 71k miles.
Apparently the paint is about 40% original (the sides have been done), the interior is brilliant - it was optioned with cork interior, leather recaro sports seats, AM/FM auto-reverse cassette stereo. On the outside it came with black alloy wheels (Fuchs), black trim (now nicely faded) Bilstein shocks and Air con.
I haven't actually seen it yet....let alone driven it. It's now at Redtek awaiting a little run over to see what's what, but initial investigations seem to show I've not bought a pup....
Anyway. I can't bring myself to alter this one at all. Apart from maybe lower it and do something with the engine. Oh yes, and to get some H4s for it. Yes, I am going to do that. And maybe put some Euro overriders on....
It's probably the lowest engine spec 911 you can buy
Strangled by American emissions regs, I have plans to turn it into a hot C3 type engine, keeping the induction, hotter cam, new exhaust and SSIs, higher compression, changed valve timing back to the C3 spec and make sure the WUR & other bits on the K-jetronic are in top nick. Hoping to get around 220-230 and with a bit of weight saving from getting rid of the AC should be a bit of fun. Everything will be kept and will be returnable to absolute stock.
Hoping that will give a bit of poke without producing a 'fragile' or 'highly strung' engine. I want this one to be a fast cruiser....
So here she is....
