I prepped the car yesterday in readiness for the new rear boot floor section. When i tried to get measurements the rot had distorted the panel to the extent that i have 3 similar but different figures.

Can someone with a solid boot floor let me know their measurements are on both outer edges ( where the light screws in) and in the middle latch area? Ideally from the floor to the top ridge where the boot seal sits on.

As this will be a critical measurement for you, we need to interpret correctly where you want the measure to be taken.
Maybe a photo with some lines or markings on, of what you need will prevent any confusion or costly errors.

Sorry David, it is a bit dusty, but my biggest failing is not yet polishing out the orange peel paint on the boot floor. How can I ever sleep

I'm unable to draw lines using anything as i'm hopeless with these types of things

Hopefully i can describe it sufficiently.

There are two straps which the rear lights bolt on to. I need a measurement dowm the centre of the strap nearest each inner wing and another straight down the middle of the latch plate. Measuring from floor to top of frame which the rubber sits on.

To avoid errors trying to measure from a line in space generated at the top of the seal edge, into the boot and then at 90 degrees straight down (which is sure to throw errors) I've measured a more accurate point from the bolt centres, which is just straight down.

200mm from lock bolt centre to floor.
215mm from roof catch bolt centre to floor each side

Great idea - internet at its most useful.

Also, it might be worth doing a couple of tack welds first and then trying the rear bumper on before committing to the full install.

The problem I can see here is with the roof catch bolt centre on each side as they are not fixed to a round hole but a slot and will vary depending where they have been mounted to hold the rubber support for the targa roof.

Ah yes Kev.

Been and re-measured. The slotted holes allow the two targa clip bolts to move linearly by 2.5mm.
Therefore with the bolts at their lowest the dimension is 212.5mm and at their highest 215mm from floor level.
Hope this clarifies.

Will begin the installation next week and with a bit of skill and a bit of luck the new floor will resemble Darrens sooner rather than later.
