DDK - Die Deutschen Klassiker

Time for a new thread where I can let you know any group plans / info and for general pre CLM 2016 chat and questions

As a rule we don't organise much for when at Classic LeMans .. its the kind of event where you do your own thing / go with the flow.

But I think it would be good to have a couple of things where we can all get together . So the plans will be to have another group meet & photo opportunity on the Mulsanne ... BIG change on this one .. we will have to organise this for Thursday evening as the roads are shut from early on Friday as for the 1st time ever the parade laps are starting at 8:30 am !!!

Additionally we will have a central socialising area in the campsite .. basically a few empty camping pitches which I hope we can put some gazebos up and have somewhere everyone can sit etc

If anyone is willing to bring a gazebo please let us know. I think we'll be able to get 3 or 4 gazebos together on the space ...



Thursday 7th July

afternoon - most people turning up & pitching at the campsite

18.00 - DDK mass meet & photo opportunity @ the 2nd chicane on the Mulsanne ( michelin chicane )



20:00 ish - Barbeque at DDK campsite


Friday 8th July

12:00 - Group C Racing

Saturday 9th July

15:00 - Race start
8pm - midnight - Arnage Corner

Sunday 10th July

16:00 - race end & a lot of DDK'ers heading to Rouen for the night

Only a few weeks to go

Plan is to have a Ddk meet at the 2nd chicane on the mulsanne

Thursday evening at 6pm ( aim to miss rush hour traffic )

Then back to the campsite for an evening get together and group Barbeque

I shall be arriving at Roscoff Thursday morning about 8.00am, so should be at Le Mans about midday. Need to get passes sorted, but hopefully see you there!

Chicane at 6 it is then!

I plan to bring a colman event shelter. I'll look to see what size it is. See you on the Thursday

I might be able to get a gazebo in the car.

We might have the offer of borrowing some extra shelters from Brian too .... Also hoping he can bring some large disposable barbecues for the Thursday night

Will confirm all once Brian gets the 24hr out of the way

Didn't someone set light to it or was that Bootsys tent ?

I didn't Russ. I picked it up out of the trash pile and it covered my lad's Mini outside for whilst it had the welding done
The winter storms eventually tore it to pieces after about 9 months.
