Early 7am start with next door neighbour Mike to make it for the GT Touring Greats breakfast meet at the Earl of Pembroke's place. Nice little front garden.



We squeezed in next to a Ferrari California.



It was mostly modern GT's. We were pretty much the oldest car. Are these two still the best undervalued tourers?



By chance we met a DDKer flat4McCor and his Aga blue 912.



The Earl has a lovely car collection of his own on show.



His 550(?) Ferrari interior.



He seems to have several cars under restoration.



Great place for an event. Well run. Stylish. Good breakfast. Nice cars. Anyone else on here go?

Sorry I don't know my Aston's that well. Is that a Vanquish?

Oops .. No it isn t ... I was looking on the phone screen . Ignore that comment , it looks like a db7 that are well priced for the smaller engined cars

It's a DB7 Vantage ...

I wouldn't class it as a small engine though James - 6 litre (5935cc) V12

Currently they're typically in the £30k region.

Was meaning the small engined v6 db7's are relatively cheap

Personally don't like their interiors, switch gear etc

I do like vanquishes though

Straight 6 derived from the period Jag 6 then altered quite a lot for no good reason!

Various bits of the DB7 have my name on... Small team delivered a pretty cool car for very little cash!

What are they like to drive Gary ....

An XJS

But considerably sportier. Base chassis is the same but springs & dampers are all bespoke. Later cars are better as is often the case with this type of car. They had a nicer interior and seats than the very first 6 cyl cars.

Cabriolet is nice. That's where most of my bits (airbags/belts/bumper system/seals etc) can be found.

Than a 6 cyl DB7 yes. But not the Vantage. If memory serves (and I'd left TWR by then) the Vantage moved to the XK8 back end with the ali subframe.

Er....I think it's an XKR. Does that make it considerably better than a DB7 6 cyl?
