If you are going to Beaulieu you may see a Chartreuse (lt green) 2.7RS on Swiss plates.

For your interest, this is a genuine one owner, lowish mileage, first series RS. It is being brought over by its Ameican (but Swiss based) owner, Jack Logan, for delivery to its new owner, Nigel Mitchell, at Beaulieu.

Nigel, had been looking for a really good RS for some years and agreed to buy this one following various recommendations, including Fred Hampton's.

The car is very good but Nigel may want to carry out some work and minor detailing. Please feel free to chat with Nigel and, as a new owner, I am sure he will appreciate any helpful advice and guidance.

You're right.

If I had to describe the colour, it would be "mushy pea green", which sounds pretty vile.

But I've seen the photos and it looks fantastic and really suits the RS - even better than Viper or Light Green.

Mind you this one will have just been driven from Switzerland so it might not be as gleaming as some of the other cars on display.

There's a couple of pics in the link above. I always find that chartreuse, like many of the other safety colours, looks very different in the flesh. Photos (especially digital images) never seem to do them justice. when I first saw pics of cars in viper green and signal orange, i wasn't too fussed on them, but when I saw them in the flesh I completely fell in love with them and they're now right up in my top five favourites. sorry for the long, slightly off topic, rambling........back to talking about the RS. Looking forward to seeing it at beaulieu.

Hi hot66
Without doubt I would love the car to be chartreuse again. Obviously a well liked colour now but no UK buyer brave enough to order it in 73. The car looks very nice in black but original would be best don't you think? Just not sure what a top notch job would cost and who to do it?

I'm sure the cost of a repaint to original spec will be reflected in the value of the car... as I'm sure your more than aware, originality, especially RS's is highly valued 8)

WOuld love to see your RS at some point... you able to make it down for any of the days in Aug for the DDK northern weekend?

That car is chassis number #1552 and my car is #1551 so likely painted at the same time in the factory

I drooled over the swiss plated RS for ages. It was stunning. I struggled to know which way to turn what with the S/T being close by too.
