Yep... the Porker is up for sale
viewtopic.php?f=21&t=55927
The beast has got to go

I've looked at it from all angles and I simply can't justify keeping it anymore. The new business needs capital and rather than take out a loan I'm looking at the 914 and thinking.... it's time to go old friend.

I can honestly say that this car has made me smile everytime I drive it. It is the most fun you can have on a public road (or track for that matter). But after spending the past few years converting it from rally to road and getting it to exactly where I want the car to be I've got to sell it. I've been quite a few 914's over the years, 4's and 6's, and I can honestly say that this is by far the quickest I've been in. Whoever buys it won't be overtaken very often if ever
End of an era - but beginning of a new one too

I just hope it goes to a good home

Oh FFS, I know you were thinking about it, but could you really not have waited for a while after I finally got mine road registered?
I was looking forward to coming over to see you and lapping you at Trac Môn !
Jokes aside: This is a great car, and represents huge value for money. A DDKer should snap it up fast. GLWTS

I'm shocked Moggy
A sad day for you indeed, but someone is going to get a great, very well sorted car with all the hard work done.
Best of luck with the sale and new business

Really sorry to see you selling it Moggy, but there you're making the absolutely correct decision. The last thing you want when starting a business is debt, I learnt the very hard way!!
It will be a wrench because of all the great times you have had in the car, but in a few years time you will (hopefully) be able to be get back into motorsport.
Good luck with the new venture

Thanks guys
It's certainly not a decision I've made lightly.
James - It might take a while to sell so you better start practicing your excuses now as to why an 'ickle 4 cylinder kicked your ass all over the track

You're not off the hook quite yet buddy.

That's a shame Moggy, I was looking forward to a season hillclimbing with you!
Hope it sells - can understand why it is going. Are you keeping the Beetle?
Cheers

Oh yeah. The beetle is staying. I've had that car since I was 17, it's part of me. Can't let that one go.

Added a load more photo's to the ad. I've had no interest from within the DDK family so looks like I'll have to spread the net wider.

Where else should I advertise it? also any feedback on how to improve the ad as I've got zero experience in selling a car (just buying

)

Reads ok to me. I wouldn't claim to be an expert by any standards, but have sold 15 or so over the years (356 - 996) and I always think so long as you give as much detail as you would want to read yourself, plus all the piccies you might also want to see (without wasting a saturday afternoon going to see a ratbag) you're well on course. I've a 3.2 Targa for sale at the moment on ebay - which I'm not sure is always the best place for a higher priced car (and it is top money) - however it's had over 1400 hits and currently at 45 watchers so clearly it does get seen by plenty of folk and we know how word of mouth spreads, so for £15 (classified) it is a good shop window. I also supply a link to an external picture hosting site and with the current ad I have around 300 images posted, which I like to think gives a very good starting point.
Good luck though.... If I didn't have two on the go I might well be tempted myself!
