Temperature gauge

Hi, I have a temperature gauge in my dials, but it's not working.

I have found that there is only 1 wire going to it at the back, and that is the ignition live.

The other wires do not seem to be anywhere to be found behind the gauges.

Is the gauge a Celcius, or Fahrenheit gauge?

If it is a Celcius one then I have a spare vdo dipstick sensor I could use to wire it up.

If it's a Fahrenheit one I need to try and find where the wire from the sensor on the bottom of the engine is going to, but without a ramp that could be tricky.

This is the gauge I refer to

I was there yesterday with my electric car.

You are in luck since the oil temperature feed wire is all on its own in the engine bay so easy to find. Find the branch of the harness with fat red wires that heads to the battery and it is half way along that, green with black tracer.

It goes through the main harness like all the other wires so must be behind the dash somewhere.

Thanks, I'll have another look later.

I did put my phone in behind the gauges To take some pictures, and couldn't see any lose ones though. But saying that I have found some weird wiring bodges previously so maybe someone removed the wires
