Am I using the correct part?

Okay okay, the rear screen's not going how I envisaged and I can see I'm going to have some 'fun'.

Just to check the 'idiot' things first; the rear screen seal I have is 911-545-225 - although described as for the '74 to '89 cars, my old version of PET suggests this also replaced the earlier part nr 911-545-901.

Have I got the correct seal?

My second question relates to the corners - there seems to be rather too much rubber bunching up at each corner when I fit the seal to the glass; I've got the 'join' in the seal aligned with the mark in the top middle of the glass as I believe it should be, so what am I doing wrong?

So far I've assembled everything dry whilst Haynes suggests using glycerine - could this be a contributory factor?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Update:

I can't get the seal to sit properly on the glass for love nor money so I've ordered a replacement from Rob at Forest Fine. Aparently he still supplies the 911-545-901 part (bought directly from the German manufacturer that originally supplied Porsche), so I'm hoping for a better result.

Will keep you posted.

Make sure you get an OEM seal. Copies often don't fit
