Does a 914/4 2.0 fuel pump work in an MFI application ?

I need 2 MFI fuel pumps Porsche No. 90160810504, Bosch No. 0580970001.
I do however have what I think is a new 914/4 2.0 Bosch pump that looks identical from the outside other than the number on it which is 0580463005.
May be a long shot but will this 914/4 fuel injection pump work in an a std 2.7RS MFI application ?
Thankyou
Andrew

It won't work Andrew - it has enough pressure (~34psi) but insufficient flow (50 l/hr as opposed to 125 l/hr for mfi)

Thankyou Andy, this saves me a lot of trial and error.
Is the pressure it delivers at 34psi similar to an MFI pump ?
Do you know of any alternative to the original MFI Bosch pump ?

Mfi pumps operate at ~ 15 psi - I don't know of any alternatives but they can be rebuilt.
Chris Flavell does quite a lot of research into alternative solutions for rare/difficult to find components so he might know of something suitable.

Hi Andrew,
Tuthill use these:

Michael Burgess, best known for his refurbs and documentation of the MFI pump itself, also refurbishes MFI fuel pumps.

Dave seems to be a happy customer:

(I have no experience of either, but have been researching. I do have an MFI pump, refurbed by Michael, which is working well).
Cheers, Richard.

Also from my research notes (again, I've not tried either of these first hand):
http://www.kmipetrolinjection.co.uk/Ext ... 0Pumps.htm
90160810504 is available new from the usual suspects, e.g.
http://www.rosepassion.com/en/cat/piece/P14061
so probably also from your local OPC. At a price, obviously... and I believe they are cosmetically different from original.

Thankyou Richard,
665 Euro just feels like a daft amount of money for a tiny pump

I'm probably going to go for these. 1 bar pressure and 2.5 l/min and comes with kit to retro fit in original position with original wiring and bracket, or it could be mounted elsewhere if you prefer.
The flow pipe from the tank goes to the flexi pipe spigot, the pipe going to the engine driven pump goes to the spigot on the electrical end of pump and the return to tank pipe is blanked off.
I need more then one so it's a lot better then spending £180 rather than >£500 each !!
