Just joining DDK. Looks like lots of variety and enthusiasm around.

I have had a nice 1968 911 in its original Burgundy Red for a few years now. Delivered in Culver City CA., March 68. Complete motor rebuild to stock this year. Maintained to original spec in all other areas. Drives beautifully as these SWBs can do.

I also just bought a very nice 356B T-6. First delivered in RHD by Hamiltons in Melbourne in early 1963 and last owner 44 years. A completely original car with paint, seats, carpet, etc., very well preserved. Only 10K Miles in the last 43 years in Club events. Fully rebuilt and balanced motor. It is to be cleaned and preserved - and used. A real time capsule. Original 'rims and 'caps still to be fitted from storage.

Looking forward to 'meeting' as many of you as possible.

Cheers,

Merv

Welcome Merv, lovely cars.
Nice to forge some UK-Australian links. I think I'm one of the few paid-up typ901 forum members residing outside Australia (I joined having bought Mitchell's 70S project and repatriated it to the UK).
Cheers, Richard.

Thanks everyone for the welcome. Yes Richard, Mitchell is just up the road from me and he has been busy also. Hope the 70S project is going well. Another local here just sold his early 65 to a UK buyer this last week. Lots of movement - one way at least!

Cheers,

merv

Lovely car James. Shame you sold it but we all have similar regrets on some cars. It is very like my 68 car in many ways. They are so balanced and tactile to drive.

I redid the seat pepita recently with some of Garry's excellent woven wool pattern.

I got my Kardex for the 356 today and it was quite exciting. It proves further that the car was Australian delivered by Hamiltons' in Melbourne in RHD, as I was advised. That makes it rare here. Also the Kardex shows the options it had fitted and most importantly shows it is fully matching numbers throughout.

I had been told that the engine was changed early in its life, but now I have the evidence that this was done AT the factory to a slightly later motor in the B series. This was seemingly done when a motor did not pass all testing requirements. All good!

Thanks Darren. Spent the day driving and was most impressed, it is such smooth little car and so different from my 911/901. With the fully balanced motor it revs nicely.
