painting a 1981 bodyshell

Could anyone advise me as to the primer and undercoat needed to paint a bare metal body of a 1981 911 SC. Thanks
IMHO go to your local paint shop and get ALL the materials you need off him to ensure chemical compatibility.
If a pro is painting the top coat, get the other materials you need off him or his supplier for the same reasons.
