DDK - Die Deutschen Klassiker

Hi there

I have just joined as new member having stumbled accross DDK website which looks really interesting.

I own a Red LHD 1962 356B T6 its a terrific car which I bought a few years ago and use as much as I can. It was sent to the USA new from Germany in 1962 and in the 1980s returned to Germany where it underwent a great restoration after which it came to the UK and was owned for a time by Wille Green a very successful Hirstoric Racing Driver before it found its way to me.

Earlier this month I purchased a lovley Red 1968 RHD 911L which I am looking forward to tinkering with.I dont know a great deal about this particular model but believe it was only built in 1968 and 449 produced. I would be very interested if anyone knows how many are still in existance and how many were LHD and RHD

google suggests that Wille Green owns another 62 Porsche. Unfortunately I suspect he didn't sell this one to you!

It is impossible to say how many of one particular model survive.
Your car was indeed unique to 1968.
The 1968 911L was sent to America instead of the S (which they didn't get due to emission controls) but it was a different animal to the ROW 68 L.
I don't know how many 68 L models came to the Rhd market but it's likely to be limited numbers as you point out.

That was my native understanding too that L models were targeted at the USA so a RHD L is rarer than a RHD speedster
