Im torn between 185/70 x 15 and 195/65 x 15, i have no particular brand in mind, but it will be good ones not cheapos

Im also torn between N rated or not, its going to be for a 73 911T on 6" cookies (6 x 15). Normal street use, i cant see myself getting near a concours event anytime soon. Just want to drive and enjoy, i'll probally lower it a tad, and fit super pro bushs for most of the suspension.

I know its a hell of a question, like whats the best oil, but im interested to hear some thoughts...

Any one switched from 185/70 to 195/65 and wont go back?

N rated worth the extra £300 for the set?

I have Vredestein Sprint Classics 185/70/15 on my 911E and I have to say I am very impressed so far. Plenty of grip, good feel and a little sidewall adds to the comfort and period feel. I actually think the car looks very right on 70 profile rubber vs something lower profile. They are also very good value - £300 for a set of 4! If you don't like them, you could ebay them / sell them / give them away.

I haven't tried both back to back to make a comparison but it depends on what you want out of the car I guess. I also have 70 profile tyres (Goodyear) on my RS rep and they deal very well with the power and pace so no issues from a performance point of view. Again, they look and feel spot on in my view.

I suspect there isn't much choice in N rated tyres other than P6000s? I've not been a great fan of them when I have used them but perhaps the N rated version is better suited to the cars.

thanks for the replies.

Good comments, ive decided not to bother with the N rated tyres. Like you say im stuck with P6000s.

I've also decided to get two sets of tyres, 185/70 and 195/65's as i have two cars. The 72 is a long term resto, so i'll just fit one set as summer tyres and one set as winter, so i can do a comparison. Ive found those Vredestein's for £66 each (plus fitting), so i'll have to thank the greeks for dumping the euro, to bring down euro prices =) lol

ive just ordered the 185/70 Vredestein Sprint Classic, and will get some 195/65 for my other set next (no idea which yet lol), so we'll see. Thanks for the posts, it was enough to sway me! See another tyre thread was good - lol
