New member from Low Countries

I've been a DDK Lurker for quite some time now. In the mean time I have registered, paid membership fees, bought a car (from Dan Squires) and a steering wheel (from Jonathan Parr), so it's time to register.
My name is Arthur, I am from the Netherlands and I've been a total car nut since I learned to walk and make engine noises. My first love was Alfa Romeo, which I inherited from my father and grandfather who were both true Alfisti. I've owned a GT's, aGTV 6, an SZ, several Spiders and raced a stepfront GT and a 147GTA cup car. I still own an Alfa Romeo Giulia Super which my grandfather bought new in 1971.
Porsche always appealed because of their history in long distance racing and because of the balance and quality of their engineering capabilities. Some years ago I was offered a 1986 3.3 turbo by a friend who owned it for more than 20 years and although more 'shed sh*t' (is that a word) than barn find it was so original and unmolested that I bought it. The car is fully fettled now and looks and drive fantastic. I use it as much as possible and even went skiing in it this year.
Last year I was lucky enough to be able to buy Dan Squires fantastic RSR replica. Thanks Dan, what a great car!!! Although the car was great when I bought it, I've since done quite a lot of work on the suspension. In fact it has been fully replaced and rebuilt, which further improved the handling. I've made some other cosmetic changes (Jonathan, thanks for the steering wheel) and some technical upgrades. Also this car is used regularly on the road and on track.
Because I love the engineering and racing side of cars as much as the driving, I've recently bought a perfect 1974 2.7 shell (with the rest of the car in boxes), and have just started the preparations to make it into an FIA Appendix K racing car. I'm really exited about this and by the time I have found out how to post pictures I intend to share the progress.
Sofar DDK has been great. A refreshing lack of rivet counters, some good banter and an 'anything goes' mentality. Also some amazing and very interesting project threads and a huge amount of useable knowhow and friendly advice.
