As much as I love my 912, well the sound with the standard exhaust to my ears leaves a bit to be desired

I'm thinking of something also with a more "hotrod" look to it. Maybe a two outlet "peashooter" type. I've spoken with John at Benton Performance in the states and they use Butsch headers but it seems you can only get than from the U.S.

Is there a locally built option that would work and give my little green machine a bit more of an interesting sound and perhaps even a little better performance ?? Any thoughts would be gratefully received.

I'm sure there are exhaust specialists in the UK, but here in the Netherlands there is just one company that can do anything you want for a reasonable price: Exhaust Power Supply (or EPS)

The sound of my car is just awesome (I think) and the price was very okay in my opinion: € 1.250,00 (all custom made in SS in a day).

Perhaps it's an idea to visit the Netherlands with your car, make an appointment with EPS, have your custom made SS exhaust fitted, and drive home with a big smile on your face...

When you visit them they can try several set-ups (one or two mufflers, what kind of end-tip(s), what diameter of the tubes, et cetera): it all has an impact not only on the sound, but also on the 'power'... After they fitted the exhaust to my car, the car not only sounded much better, the engine stayed cooler and the car gained 4 bhp...

Before the KK 'Sebring' I used to run a Dansk Sports box on my A. It had a lovely deep rumble on tick over levelling to a deep base at speed. Basically a baffleless, larger-tipped version of the standard box. I know of a few people that ran them on 912s with extended fat tips to clear the rear overhang.

i bought one of those 912 exhausts that are advertised on eBay at around £150 - think it's a dude in portugal making them

I was REALLY impressed with the quality. It looks stock but was definitely a bit more "meaty" sounding - and for £150 plus post - compared to the other ones available I thought it was a great solution.

I had an M&K stainless twin exhaust on my 912 - it had a great sound to it - not too loud but a nice throaty rasp to it.

That is exactly what I am after Mr Pharma ! Turbo Thomas does something similar though and its made in England, easier than shipping, but the M&K on my Sc was fantastic. What have you got now if you no longer have the 912 ?

Yes I have a 914 now. Great car but not as beautiful as my 912

I sense I'm get close to needing to replace my Bursch sytem. Charlie do you know please if the Portugese supplied one is for a US spec heater box or European spec system?

Nick T are you still making the 912 systems, if so would you mind pm'ing me a price for a US spec fitting one please?.

I have one of Nick T's exhausts, its spot on for both sound and quality

You can also use a 356 sports exhaust, Andy Prill sourced one for me, looked great and sounded fab
