window winder broken

Hi, just got back from Enfield Pagent today and my right hand window has failed, it appears that the toothed section has come away from the winder mechanism (ie the half moon toothed part has dropped down). Not sure how this can be unless there is a clip that holds them together or it is the spring mechanism. Anyone fixed these before? I have the door card off so far. Best Keith

Keith

you have probably suffered a winder pivot failure. Not uncommon. Karmann Konnection sell the replacement part to repair.Karmann Konnection sell the rear pivot for £26 per side.

Its a case of removing the window regulator from the door and putting it all back together with the new pivot and re installing. The spring is to assist riding the window up when you put it back on. I would suggest doing both mechanisms as if one has gone the other will not be far behind it.

Regards

Sean
