Jack tube receiver

Hello to every one,
going on with metal work a question for you expert(after screening again most beautiful restoration threads but no one with a close picture...)
jack tube profile has to be aligned with outer rocker sill (picture below...sorry if you have to rotate anticlockwise 90°... i'm fighting with photobucket
)
or a little bit "prominent" (actually following all reference the metalworker found on the car it would naturally stay so...)
