rocker covers with sealant!

The last place what worked on my 616 engine decided to seal the rocker covers. I had a good pull on one this morning trying to get it off but no joy. Do I need to pull harder or use something to loosen the sealant? The also sealed the slump plate. I found good gaskets to do the job! I'm inclined to think this is done to prevent the novice working on their car but maybe maybe putting sealant on is just them being extra careful?

You need to get the seal open in fust one small place ie an upper corner and with a slowly-catch-your-monkey effort the seal will undo with a constant tension.

Alternative which I use is to get a new Stanley knife blade and tap the centre of the blade in-between the two surfaces to do the same job. this has the gentlest of wedging action and will free the goop used.
