We in Porsche Club Ireland are planning a drive that takes 2300kms along the Western Seaboard of Ireland. Starting in Derry/Londonderry on Sunday 17th May and ending a week later in Kinsale. Any DDKer is welcome to join us and I've copied some details below.

http://www.wildatlanticway.com/
The tour will start in Derry, and we will follow the official WAW motoring route, stop at each of the 15 signature points, finishing in West Cork.
We have designed this tour to be specifically broken into bite size lumps that allows participants to enjoy the wonderful driving roads and scenic routes our country offers us. We hope that members will either join us for the full trip, or dip in and out on the several stages as and when suits.
Accommodation for each overnight (including evening meal and breakfast) will be organised for each member to book individually in the next few weeks and will be communicated to interested members. We are negotiating rates for doubles, twins and singles and when we post details would appreciate any input based on local knowledge
Our tour will take us along the coast from Donegal through Sligo, Mayo, Galway, Clare, Limerick, Kerry and Cork. All are welcome to join us even if it’s for just a few hours as we traverse your home patch.
Our intention is to have great craic driving through our beautiful country on a journey of discovery with like minded enthusiasts.
Planning is well advanced and we have provisional commitments from several members – now is the time to firm up on these numbers and organise what we hope will be a great road trip !

Brian. I'm away at present with iffy email connections. Ferry will be expensive I'm afraid unless you could use an ROI route like Holyhead - Dublin Port and since we finish in Kinsale why not sail Scotland to Belfast/Larne and home Dublin - Holyhead. We have gone to hotels en route and got very good prices for dinner with B&B. Cost will be less than a Euro Drive and some stunning traffif free roads. I'm told by the Irish Tourist board that we will be the first Car Club to do the WAW. And for you people coming from the UK you are getting a great rate for € vs £ now making it cheaper for you. Irish petrol is cheap now as well.

As an example, we ve got a Hotel in Clare, night 3 or 4 I think for close to £100 for the room ( 2 pers) and their dinners and breakfasts .

Dave - I'll PM you, I'm interested in going on this run.

For those looking for discount ferry prices I can reccomend Nutt Travel, based in Coleraine NI, who offer discount rates on stena line for those looking for Holyhead - Dublin or Cairnryan - Belfast ferries. If enough interest I could put a call in to Billy Nutt and ask about a special rate? Sort of agree that Cairnryan - Belfast then Dublin - Holyhead might be the best option? Pls let me know if any interest and I can find out.

Sounds like a great run and around the time of the North West 200 as well. Brian for you the best option is Cairnryan both ways or via Troon.

Will keep it in mind but I may be Porscheless then as I'm selling the 944 & the 911 is not yet on the road.

Good luck :)

Helen, We have no plans to do it again, it takes 8 days and nights but if you need any help or advice just ask or PM here. You can also get a pack from Failte Ireland or here. If time is short, arrive Dublin and either do the Nordschleiffe or Sudschleiffe ( ie drive to Galway and then turn left or right )

We are though doing a Circuit of Ireland tribute to the North Eastern Stages on 24/25 th Sept, PM Mike B on here as he's organising it and any DDK'r is welcome to join us.
