Blower motor mod?

Taking apart the blower motor today it looks like it's been modified, any one know what's been done to it or is it standard?

To me, those white blocks look like ceramic resistor heaters. Looks like an attempt to generate some extra heat out of the fresh air blower. I very much doubt it would work.

DIY speed controller for the fan. Probably bits robbed from an RC car?

Yes Nige, they could also be replacing the bimetallic spring type resistors in the base of the heater that control the fan speed. Where did the wires go to before you took the unit out?

Can't be sure how it was wired in as it was already out of the car when I got it.

Yes they must have been put in to replace the original fan speed resister although why two? clean and lubricate the bearings while you have it apart they do make a horrible noise when dry.
