Enigine bay seal

Hi,
I am messing about with the engine bay seal that goes between the licence plate panel and the rear slam panel with all the gold stickers on.
I cannot keep the seal in place as I put the licence plate panel on. It slips slightly out of position.

How is it held in place, by glue, just enough as you press the panel up?

Any ideas welcome on this.
Kind regards Ian

Hi Ian, the pressure of the panel holds it in place. Is it a re production ally panel as these are different in there shape and make fitting the seal problematic.

Dansk panels have a slightly different profile to the genuine panel, which makes the seals hard to keep in place.

Hi Alan and Nick,
Thank you for the hints.
I have added in some pictures to show the problem.
The panel was sold to me as being original.
I cannot appear to get the nice 3/4" of seal showing as the pictures I have seen. It is as thought he panel and the real slam panel are too close together.

Thanks Ian
