First 912, actually first Porsche

After seeing a gleaming pre 73 Silver 911 competing at a local hillclimb in Yorkshire over 10 years ago, I’ve been “needing” such as car ever since. About a year ago I stepped up my search for a car appropriate to a Porsche newbie and recently bought a US import ’97 912, which is now nicely tucked away at home. That classic shape always makes me smile whenever I walk past the car. The car looks really original, has some rust / paint problems, but my intention is to patch it; stick some belts in the back (so the kids can come along) and drive it, rather than trying to build the “show” car. So looking forward to many happy years of pain free classic Porsche ownership – yeh right!

Yeh that's the one, a very nice car indeed thanks for posting the picture. My missis raced a mini there for many years, so we came across it quite a few times. Was always on the shopping list but a TVR Vixen and other classic Mini came our way first. Im over in Lancashire, nr Preston but origianlly from Yorkshire. If there are any 912 / 911 owners over this way would be interested to meet up.

Thanks
Alex
