If you take the wheels off you can get a bike in the back. Quicker than taking on/off a bike rack.

Looks like a great idea but would you trust it to stay stuck down?

Resurrecting this thread:
I need to take a bike to my folks' place in France in July, and leave it there. About 500 miles avec vélo, alors.
How big a frame/wheels has anyone managed to get in the back of an early coupe?
Any pics / tips / tricks?
The bike I'm taking is an adult hybrid bike. Light-ish, but certainly no wafer thin race machine.
Although I think the bike on the roof look is kind of cool in a "I don't give a darn" style, I guess a roof mounted cycle might somewhat limit my cruising speed
In case I do decide to go roof mount route, Might anyone in the South East have a (roof mounted) bike rack suitable for 911, that I could borrow for 2 weeks in July?

Mark (Sladey) took his wife's bike in the back of his 911 up to Scotland on the DDK trip last year.

I've put my 26" rigid MTB inside my 911 a couple of times. Take the wheels off and it slots right in.

Yep - no big deal with the wheels off

I work with a videographer that suckers his (£7000) mountain bike to the roof of his Nissan GT-R, and drives it normally (as in, like a bell end). Never a problem. It's amazing.
That said, I wouldn't trust it.

The Thule racks that fit on Beetles fit on our cars, then you just need a bike rack to tie it all together.
