I have a Recaro tilting base Adam, will confirm which side.

Pretty sure reproduction items are also available at less money.

Cheers,

Adam already has the correct tipping bases, he wants to convert one seat from passenger to driver by swapping the recliner hinges over. I guess it can be done, but will certainly require some fabrication on the frame of the seat back.

I would have thought you'd have more luck swapping the seat with someone who has a spare right hand seat ... or buying a right hand seat outright & selling yours.

The other option is to make one yourself.
You would need a right side standard seat from a 1973 911 and a standard seat from a BMW 2002.
Use the bottom part of the hinge from the porsche seat with the recaro levver and use the top part of the hinge from the BMW and bolt them together.
You do need to put in the reinforcement metal plate in the bottom part and drill and extra hole, but that is the easy part.
Getting the parts at a an affordable price is the hard part. I have done this with a couple hinges about 10 years back when stuff was easy to get.

In probable order of rising cost.

Have you spoken to D'eser and the other replica seat companies to see if they sell these seperately as spares? The Deser ones look identical to the real things or to the ones on my SC sports seats at least.
Have you spoken with Southbound to see if they have any that they will sell/swap/part-ex against yours?
Are they still available from Porsche? The ones on SC sports seats still were a year ago when I last checked...

Sorry guys, stand down. I was told that they were now available, but it seems it's only standard seat hinges, not sports.
