Not a Porsche

Post by saxon »

My latest acquisition a 1973 Bmw 2002 tii in inka orange she needs a bit of work to get it up to how a want it looking, engine bay needs detailing, i'm currently getting the front seats restored by Classicfx .
i have some Miniltes 6/14 on order 7 weeks turn around quite a long wait  looking forward to seeing them. a few other things i want to put on the car is a set of Bilsteins shocks, s/s exhaust system.
can anyone recommend good tyres 185/60/14 that don't cost the earth with a period tread patten, all i seem to come across is a modern pattern :?

you can see in this photo the bonnet needs adjusting to line up with the door that's another job on the to do list :)

These are the original seats Garry is currently restoring, i have gone for a change in pattern to basket weave which i think will look much better .

Very cool, and I like the sound of your plans for it.

I nearly talked myself into buying this a while back.....

My dad had one and used to take me to school in it. Lovely car, I don't think he could fit in it anymore....

I was very close to buying one but got my 912 instead. Lovely cars. Nice colour.

I've chased a couple of these for sale in the last year. I like the fact that they are practical and well make. I expect one will pass my way some time soon. Thinking of getting one from the US in stead lots out there.

Nice car! I had a 1602 for years...

One thing a real BMW-critic/enthusiast immediately notices are the two 'seams' above the headlamps... Those shouldn't be there...

The front seams at the factory were brazed, and then leaded. i think my has been replaced at some stage with a later black grille,
i do prefer a chrome one . :)
