Very early to post for the Christmas dinner 2014 but I have just found out that the Pub now have some rooms available on site which might tempt some folk from further afield....

Probably Wednesday 17th December subject to confirmation from the Orange Tree.

Update.

Just spoken to Hans the manager and asked for Weds 17th December, he will confirm the date and supply Menu over the next few days. He says that we will not be disappointed with either the newly revamped Bar, the food or the new (13 only) hotel rooms!

Awaiting confirmation of 17th Dec.

Menu appears to be as below:-

To start
Wild mushroom, lentil and crème fraîche soup, root vegetable crisps (v)
Pork belly and prune terrine, caramelised onion chutney, sourdough toast
Whisky oak smoked salmon, orange, watercress salad, toasts
Chestnut, spinach and butternut squash roulade, chive cream, mixed herb salad (v, n)

The main event
All served with goose fat roasted potatoes, spiced red cabbage, honey roasted carrots, parsnips to share
Crown of English Rose turkey, pigs in blankets, Brussels sprouts, seasonal stuffing, gravy
Highland venison and chestnut suet pudding, celeriac purée, cabbage and sprout fricassee (n)
Jerusalem artichoke, shallot and leek tart tatin, rapeseed oil roasts, celeriac purée (v)
Pan roasted turbot, creamed leeks, peas, smoked bacon

Puddings to finish
Mulled apple sorbet, pear purée, winter fruits, cinnamon crackers
Bailey’s cream filled profiteroles, chocolate sauce
Figgy pudding, brandy butter ice cream
Oxford Blue cheese, figs, honey, water biscuits

2 courses £23.50 3 courses £28.95

A discretionary 10% service charge will be added to your bill.

Now confirmed as 17th December 2014 to be seated by 8.30pm.

Lets get those bookings and food choices in asap please for the largest DDK Orange Tree Christmas Dinner ever!
