DDK - Die Deutschen Klassiker

Hello. I'm after a bit of advice really. I have a set of 7 & 8 x 15" American Racing wheels available but have absolutely no idea of the value having never seen this style wheel before. They are a bit dirty but will clean up nicely. Tyres are shot.

Any advice would be very welcome.

They do have a value and are collectable, though unsure of value.

I might fancy them if the price is right .

Just my opinion:
they are unusual over here
They declare 'hot-rod!'
They are a good size

They need a good refurb
Will they miss arches on a narrow bodied car/ fill-out a flared car?
Do they need special wheel nuts

Possibly worth loose fitting them to an early 911 and take a side view pic just to illustrate their potential?

My guess is £150 each bearing in mind a possible £70 each refurb cost, far less if a DIY / rattle can.

They are currently on a wide body car so, no wouldn't fit a narrow body.
No special wheel nuts required as they are standard Porsche fitment.
I will have a better look this weekend and hopefully get chance to clean one/them up. My suspicion is from what i have seen, that the anodized rims will clean up very nicely as there didn't appear to be any pitting or damage and with the centers re-blacked they will look really very good.

This might help. I'm sure some of you may have seen the car advertised on Ebay.

I would say that they are rarer than the Torq Thrusts that I have but unfortunately will only appeal to a very small niche market. I like them a lot and with a good detail think that they will look excellent on an early hot rod. Even if you don't have all of the correct nuts (I think they do need a sleeved nut) they can be easily modified to take more readily available lug nuts.

Good luck with the sale and I hope that they end up on a hot rod 911 whose owner is not afraid to be different!

That photo would suggest they fit under a std front wing but does anyone know?

So it turns out that my original guess at the sizes were completely wrong and they are actually 8.5 x 15 and 11 x 15.

From the advert the larger ones are 10x15 not 11x15

I used to have 9x17s under my stock 3.2 rear arches - be interesting to know if they'd fit under them - depends on the offset I suppose
