Hello from Highbury

I really can't understand why it's taken me so long to join DDK.
I started looking at it in earnest last week in desperation as I needed to locate a replacement air box for my car and I was amazed at how responsive and helpful you lot were to my Wanted post.
Back to basics - I have 1971 RHD 2.2E which I bought in '97. It's gone through several phases starting as restoration basket case to daily driver, stored away for a while, body restoration phase 2 and most recently full engine rebuild.

NB: I've corrected the model year on my car to '71 thanks to guidance from a DDK'er. It was manufactured in Oct '70 which means it fits into the 1971 model year. It was good of Porsche to run their own independent calendar!

I must admit that it's one part of engine building that had me completed confused. I used to be a c++ coder in a previous life so I'm very used to developing something then spending more time testing and refining the code. I couldn't believe when I had an engine built and someone said they would give it back to me without testing it! I guess you could agrue they are different problems with the engine build having really only a handful of good solutions while the code has many, many possible solution, but none the less ..

seen ur car in both establishments many times ...........i used to have my salary paid direct into their bank accounts .............they re working on a 2.2 s of mine right now and did a 2.4 s now nearly 10 years ago .........do it once ,do it right ..........2. 4 still looks pretty good after 10 years, virtually daily driver........they ARE worth it
