New member in Surrey now with a 911

After a year or so of browsing this site it is time for a posting.
I have found the forum really informative and it is great to read about all the developments of member's cars and projects. Unfortunately to date I have been unable to find a suitable 911. I am based in Surrey and am looking for a good honest 911 Coupe from around 1966 to 1973 and would consider either a recently refurbished 911 or one that is requires work.
While browsing the forum I have also been trying to find out where the local meet takes place. There are some posts about Cobham but there is no recent information. While searching for a potential 911 I saw a data sheet for the 911s showing the range of chassis numbers with the range of engine numbers. Does anyone have a copy as it would be useful when viewing potential 911s for sale?
I recently rebuilt a 1960 series 2 Land Rover so if anyone requires the moving of project parts around the Surrey area I am happy to help and learn more about classic 911s.
Happy motoring.
Alan

Welcome Alan and good luck searching for the right car for you.
I'm sure somebody will be along before too long with info about meeting at the Fairmile.
Plenty of early Landie love on here and pics are always a good thing!

Welcome.
You need to speak to MT. A fellow Series 2 owner, based not too far from Surrey and a 911 restorer!

Hi All,
Thanks for the welcome. I will try and find out more about MT and make contact.
Here are some photos of my Land Rover after it emerged from a few months in my garage having been stripped back to a chassis and engine. All matching numbers, chassis, engine (2.25 petrol 4 cylinder), gearbox, axles, number plate and a genuine 67,000 miles.
Now I am after something lower and faster!
Regards,
Alan

Welcome to DDK. Love the colour scheme off your Landy. Good luck with the 911 search, it seems to get hard and more expensive every year.

Good luck on your hunt... top marks on the parts hauler too - you're in good company here.
With apologies for sullying the thread, here's something lower and faster that you might appreciate...
Aircooled too...

Thanks for all the advice over the last few months and at the meet in Cobham. I came across a very sound 911 locally and a deal was done. I am now the owner of a 1968 2.0 MFI 911E and having a great time driving it now the summer has arrived. The only jobs to do are reinstall the original seats, door cards and steering, which are all supplied.
I do need to purchase the front number plate brackets and overiders. I also need to get a DDK badge, how do I purchase one? I will be signing up for full membership to DDK at the weekend.
Alan
