Brake Master Cylinder Rebuild
Posted: Sun Feb 20, 2005 10:31 am
My '72 car had lost all brake pressure when I wanted to drive it yesterday
(fortunately it was parked in my garage at the time).
Having investigated further I found a pedal cluster full of brake fluid and a leak onto the garage floor from beneath the small reinforcement panel underneath (and quite a bit of bare metal exposed due to the properties of the brake fluid)
.
I'm going to pull the pedal assembly out and guess that a seal will have gone in the master cylinder. Are repairs kit available for this and how easy is the job to complete?
It's a real pitty as my pedal pressure was real good until this happened - hopefully I can get it fixed pretty quickly.
Any words of wisom will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Ian
