Gravity......just go and see it!

Post by Mike »

Apologies for the non Porsche content, but if there's one film you have to see as soon as possible..... it's GRAVITY.

Saw it at a film industry preview last night and I have to say I've never seen anything like it. People there in the know were
calling it the best film of our generation, possibly the best film ever made, all I know is that you must see it. Don't wait to
see it on a plane or on the laptop, go to the biggest screen you can find and most definitely watch it in 3D. It takes film
making to a level never seen before and is sure to make a clean sweep of the Oscars next year.

It took 4 years to make, the cinematography is breathtaking and you really do feel you are up there with them. Everyone is
quite rightly raving about Sandra Bullock, but George Clooney is sensational.

If you've read all the fantastic reviews you'll know how good everyone's saying it is, but they are wrong, it's better than that!

cheers, Mike.

I was at the Smithsonian Space Centre near Dulles Airport a couple of weeks back. One of the guides in there was raving about it and saying that a surprising amount of it is based on actual events - or "scenarioed" events by NASA. He told me this standing under the Discovery shuttle.

I watched Film '81 (or whatever it's called these days) over breakfast this morning and I don't think I've ever heard such universal praise for one film (not that I hold Winkleman's view in that much esteem, the other guy, yes).

It looks terrifying.

Can't wait to see it.

an old school friend of mine worked on it ( a bit ) - special effects.

He also claims to have been 'yoda' in one of the later starwars movies. I tend to believe him, even if it is every mans ( over the age of 36) dream to be able to say this at a dinner party.

I saw it. Meh. It was good, but best film? Nah.

The effects were amazing though, even in 2D

turns out he was on the film for over a year. - he did the space suits - all of which are CGI. - still think the yoda story pips to the post.

It really is a spectacular film. I was totally engrossed in it. The special effects are amazing, it's hard to believe how real it looks.

There is one bit where Sandra Bullock is in the foreground and all manner of kaos is going on behind her and it's just an amazing sequence.

Go during the day and get good seats for the best 3D view point.

Great effects but usual disaster movie storyline... Too many 'unbelievable moments'.
Effects: 10/10
Storyline: 5/10
Credibility: 2/10

Don't listen to him Keith. He'll be telling you Peppa Pig isn't real next.
